The Lambda Chi Chapter utilizes both structured and informal recruitment at the College of Charleston to recruit bold, intelligent, and motivated young men to join and eventually lead our Chapter in future years and solidify our legacy as a fraternity that stands out by living its values.
The Fall formal recruitment process consists of a two week period including a Convocation of potential new members, Open House, IFC recruitment events, and a formal Bid Day ceremony. The Lambda Chi Chapter participates in all of these events, and gives out bids at the formal Bid Day ceremony at the end of the two week period.
Spring Recruitment is more informal than the Fall Recruitment and also consists of a two week period including many exciting events, an Open House, and a Meet and Greet. Lambda Chi Chapter gives out bids at the end of this period.
We strive to attract and recruit men who pursue excellence in their studies, are actively involved in other student organizations, and have a moral responsibility reflective of our Chapter’s values. The five core values, Friendship, Excellence, Morality, Service, and Knowledge, were essential in our evaluation of potential new members. We strive to pledge men who are in-tune with the ideals of our fraternity. Because of this careful recruitment method, we find that we are guaranteed to only find excellent gentlemen that will hopefully join our great Fraternity at the College of Charleston.
Our Chapter has the highest GPA on campus, as well as a rich social calendar for the Spring 2012 semester, which include many Mixers, Beach Weekend, Carolina Cup, Formal, and our infamous Islander Event. For more information about the fraternity, please check the brotherhood page of the website or our Rush Facebook page.
TO POTENTIAL RUSHEES:
The Rush Chair for the Fall 2012 is David Nasrollahi and Matt Tamburri. Please feel free to call either with any questions about Recruitment, Brotherhood, or Greek Life in general. Remember, every fraternity man was once a rushee who had the same concerns that you do.
TO GRADUATE BROTHERS:
If your son is interested in becoming a Phi Gam, we would love to hear from you and give him special consideration as a legacy. Again, please contact David Nasrollahi and Matt Tamburri to give this information.

” When I went through rush, we tried to find out who we wanted to spend our college years with, where we wanted to grow and who we wanted to learn from. I looked at a lot of fraternities, but I really wanted to be a FIJI.”
